Training high-impact infrastructure professionals
Services
WCL is an incubator for talent in key industry gaps, using its bespoke ‘Right Track’ model to rapidly develop effective personnel.
Creating win-win training partnerships for the industry
A strong supply of homegrown talent is great for everyone: employers, local and national economies, infrastructure programmes, and of course – the employees themselves.
Training and development is faster, cheaper and more powerful when it’s collaborative. That’s why we offer a range of resource-sharing, sponsorship and joint training options for clients and contractors across infrastructure.
Whether it’s by sponsoring a trainee, providing access to your live environments, or other bespoke placement options, we’re here to help you access and develop early talent for less.

Right Track: Redefining early career training & retraining
The Right Track is our bespoke pipeline for entry- and mid-level resource across infrastructure, built around our ability to draw junior level talent from a range of parallel areas and develop it quickly.
Active work on major projects from day one
This speed is achieved by our close relationships with clients and contractors, allowing us to expose early career staff to ‘the coal face’ of major infrastructure projects from the very start. Right Track staff work directly on those projects with our senior staff and directors, giving them outstanding mentorship in an active environment as opposed to the occasional chat.
Pathways to industry accreditation
Alongside this, we support those staff to achieve key industry qualifications by the end of the Right Track, resulting in accredited staff with far more experience, confidence and skill than you might traditionally expect after 2-3 years in the field. The Right Track is a development pathway that can’t be bought, and can’t be replicated through any amount of theoretical learning.

Our ethos around training, development and the next generation of infrastructure professionals is ‘attribute first’. That means we select candidates according to their attitude, aptitude and outlook, not how many years of experience they have or which software platforms they’re already familiar with.
From this, we’ve shaped effective recruitment and training routes from parallel sectors and underappreciated demographics. We’re a leader in driving greater gender and age diversity, as well as creating opportunities for those rehabilitating after a conviction or looking for their next step after leaving the armed forces.
